Nature and Learning

This quote rings so true for me as I always resort to my favorite quiet spot in nature when I need to be soothed or recharged.  As a child my most vivid memories are the ones where I was outside playing in nature igniting all of my senses!     The fact that I can spend my days outside with your children watching their excitement and wonder is such a gift!

As I sifted through the many photos from our last two weeks at NLA it is even more clear that our outside NLA time is not only good for the fresh air and Vitamin D, but we are helping our children discover the soothing and calming and excitement that nature provides.

We discovered so many beautiful creatures this week at NLA and we are experiencing first hand the change of seasons as the leaves fall on us while we play and explore!

Here are a few of our discoveries in Nature this week:

 A spider's work of art,

 worms, grubs and rolly-pollies,

 a beautiful luna moth caterpillar!

and a quiet spot to rest and be soothed!

We spent time watering the garden and will begin planting seeds soon!

We also spent time building,

and just hanging out with our friends...

Our first two weeks have been just magical and I thank you all for you help with our new "clean-up" system and thank you to our photographers as well!  If you have more photos to send that would great!   We have lots of new friends joining us now and our community is growing once again!  I am excited about where we are headed as we grow and expand.  Please check out our website at as it is finally up and working!
Family Day could not have been more beautiful and we will be doing this again.  We are also planning a Holiday Party for families and a few more Parent Chat's as well! Hope you can join us.
