Creative Wonder!

It was another all boy day on Wednesday this week!  It is such a gift to be able to watch these children create in their uninhibited and free spirited way!  The photos hardly capture the feelings and emotions of the moment, but I am laughing out loud as I go through and relive the day!  I learn so much from watching children play.  They amaze me and I am grateful to be able to do what I do!

The boys created dot marker pictures.....

and spin art masterpieces.  Sam said he was spinning his art to dry it because that's what a salad spinner does...it dries the lettuce!

Davis said he needed tape to make something.  He went right to work!  He said, "I made it myself."  Natural artists and engineers!

The tape creations spread and others tried it out too!

Some of the boys created a fun game involving the slide and a few balls.  I never saw them discussing the rules or deciding who went first or last.  The game just evolved as they went!

 We hammered....

Devin found some beautiful flowers that had fallen off a bush outside the playground. Later I saw that he added them to a paint pot with a mop.  It was an interesting mix of items that made perfect sense to him and his play!

We gave hints, guessed a lot and then gave up and SHARED!  Love to watch the thinking that goes on with the hints and clues that are given.

After sharing and a new Pete the Cat book we headed out for experiments!  What a great day!  See you next week, Joy

Explorations and Experiments in the Sunshine!

Friday was a beautiful day for exploring  soaking up the warm sunshine and that is just what we did!

We played in the dirt and the sand and we took time to stop and smell the flowers.

 There were forests to discover...

and ramps to be made...

and cooking and composting to be done.

We painted too!  Carson told me this was a picture of the beach.  I see the blue ocean water and the bright sun!

I brought the magnets out for the kids to test on the playground. They tested the match box cars and the monkey bars! Little Scientists at work and play!

For Kian the play dough was transformed into a Home Depot paint department.  He worked hard mixing paint and making sure the customers were happy.

And there were birthday donuts too!

Our sharing and snack were done in the sun!

We headed inside for a story and goodbye song.

More photos of happy children.

See you Wednesday!  Hoping to get outside with our large Wednesday group, so bundle up it may be cold!
