Almost Spring!

The past few weeks we have finally seen a lovely glimpse of Spring!  The blooming flowers and warmer temps remind us that our hibernation days are almost over for the year. Time to stay outside and explore!  Looking forward to more picnics and lots of gardening.

We got much more than our hands dirty this week!

We measured and poured and mixed and made some fabulous green play dough.

We made rainbow colors and explored a gooey mix in the sensory table.

We got sandy in the sandbox digging holes and burrowing the treasure box.

We painted pictures and even painted ourselves.

We even had fun washing some dishes together.

Our pendulum/wrecking ball was lots of fun for all!

I shared with some of you about a Creative Insight Journey class that I have been taking for the last 8 weeks.  The class ended this week with a big project that we had to present.  I had fun painting "like a child" for my project (letting go of fear and just enjoying the creative process).  It was so much fun!

The tools that I learned (or was just reminded of) from the class are little bits of wisdom that we can all learn from just watching children play.  Here are just a few of the tools that I am reminded of when I am with your children at NLA:

1. Be in the present moment (fully engage in the NOW).

2. Be your unique self and be proud of who you are.

3.  Be curious, ask questions and explore everyday.

4. Take risks and remember to PLAY!
